How to Pair New Replacement Powerbeats Pro Earphones or Charging Cases

Updated: Nov 3, 2020

Today, we're going to demonstrate how to pair your new Powerbeats Pro earphone or charging case with your existing Powerbeats Pro earphone and/or charging case.

If you’ve damaged or lost an earphone or charging case, pairing a new earphone or charging case is a simple process. The charging case acts as a manager for your Powerbeats Pro earbuds. Resetting the charging case and earbuds will erase any saved bluetooth settings and will also pair the replacement earbuds with one another, allowing you to start fresh, as if the headphones were new, out of the box.

IMPORTANT: CHARGE THE EARBUDS. This process will not work unless the earbuds are fully charged or the batteries in the earbuds are within 20% of each other.

Firstly, you'll need to charge your replacement earbud, as the battery will most likely be depleted during shipping. Simply plug your charging case into a power source and place both earbuds into the charging case and wait for 2 hours. This should give the earbuds ample time to charge. Next, you’ll need to unpair the headphones from your device. If you’re using an iOS device, navigate to your bluetooth preference settings, located in your Settings app, by

going to Settings > Bluetooth and click on the information icon next to your Powerbeats Pro headphones.

Tap on the information icon next to the device name.

Then select, “Forget This Device.” You’ll be prompted to forget the headphones on the current device.

Select that option.

You’ll then be prompted to remove the bluetooth device from your iCloud network. This will remove the headphones from any other devices, such as an iPad or MacBook Pro.

Set your iOS device aside, and begin pairing your new earbud with your old headphones and charging case.

Install your new earbud along with the old earbud into the charging case.

This step is also the same process for replacing the charging case.

Once you’ve placed the earbuds into the charging case, press and hold the reset button located on the top, inner panel, for 10 seconds. Once you see the LED blink red then white, the reset process has finished. The earbuds will now be paired to each other.

If you’re using an iOS device, simply set the charging case with the earbuds placed inside, next to the iOS device, and open the case. You will see a pop-up window displaying the Powerbeats Pros. Follow the prompt by tapping the “Connect” icon in that window, and you will then be paired to your iOS ecosystem.

For any other bluetooth device, navigate to your bluetooth settings and follow the bluetooth prompts to connect the Powerbeats Pros. Please note that it may take a few seconds for the Powerbeats Pros to become discoverable.

And thats it. You should have successfully paired your new earphone or charging case and are now ready to go!

I want to add a few points when it comes to getting an earpiece swapped.

  • If you try to sync the new earpiece by putting it in the case and holding the button until it blinks red and white, but it still won’t work, you may have to charge the case and the earpiece.

  • When the earpiece is not charged, you will also note that when you try to sync the new earpiece, the case will still continue to sync with the old earpiece.

  • We only waited for about an hour of charging to try syncing again instead of two hours. However, you can charge for two hours if needed.

  • Lastly, once the case and earphones are charged good, you…
